Glenmorangie Dornoch
Limited edition from Glenmorangie distillery inspired by the Dornoch Firth fjord, on the coast of which the distillery is located. To achieve the desired evocative profile, Dr. used Bill Lumsden's classic Glenmorangie matured in bourbon barrels, as well as light peat material matured in Amontillado barrels. The owner of the distillery, LVMH, also helps protect this fjord, with each bottle sold contributing to the company's marine protection.
Aroma: Well-known nectarines and apples, lemon, coastal grasses, caramel, fine spices.
Taste: Caramel develops into cane sugar and peat begins to break through. Tiramisu, star anise, hints of walnut smoke.
Conclusion: Malt fruit Glemorangie with earthy peat depth.
Overall impression: Still a classic Glenmorangie, but an adequate injection of the peat effect and a barrel of Amontillado help to better evoke their beautiful home.
