Extraordinary 12-Year-Old Rum from the Barbadian distillery Foursquare.
Foursquare 2008 Cask Strength is part of the unique and rare rum edition Exceptional Cask Selections, personally selected by master distiller Richard Seal. It is his personal project of creating rums that are released to the world only when he feels they have achieved extraordinary quality. These rums are one of a kind, available only for a short time, and represent a truly remarkable approach to blending and aging rums.
The rum Foursquare 2008 Cask Strength Mark XIII aged for 12 years in a combination of first, second, and third-fill bourbon casks. The tropical climate of the island accelerated the aging process on many levels by 2 - 3 times compared to if it had aged in Europe or another temperate climate. The result is an authentic rum created without coloring, without added sugar, without additional flavoring, and without filtering. It features a delicious flavor profile full of sweet fruity notes dominated by cherries combined with a sweet-earthy base.
The rum is bottled at a higher alcohol content of over 60%.
Aroma and Taste: fresh and dried dark berries, ripe cherries, scent of new leather and tobacco, vanilla, caramel, dark chocolate, roasted almonds with coconut and hazelnuts.
