Double Cross
The Double Cross brand was created through a collaboration between American investor Dr. Malcolm Lloyd (together with John Gellner) and experienced Slovak master distiller Ján Krak. The goal was to create a world-renowned luxury vodka. After extensive travels throughout Eastern Europe, they found a plant in Stará Ľubovňa under the High Tatras, the ideal place for its production.
The name Double Cross draws inspiration from the double cross on the Slovak coat of arms, a symbol with historical and cultural significance.
Double Cross Vodka is made exclusively from organically grown winter wheat and spring water from aquifers deep beneath the Tatra Mountains. There, it is distilled seven times and then filtered seven times - including a unique filtration through diamond dust - which significantly enhances its exceptional purity and elegant texture.
Double Cross is unique in its style and recognition - it is the only vodka in the world to have won double gold at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition for both taste and bottle design. Critics have described it as exceptionally pure, creamy, yet rich and pleasant even when drunk neat. Wine Enthusiast rated the vodka 95 points and ranked it among the top 50 vodkas of 2009; other outstanding reviews were provided by F. Paul Pacult and Anthony Dias Blue.
The flavor profile is exceptional - an elegant combination of a delicate grain base, refreshing citrus notes, white chocolate, minerality, and a creamy consistency, with a clean and long finish.
