Dimple 15 Year Old

Dimple 15 Year Old is a prestigious classic among Scotch blended whiskies. This golden blend, carefully crafted for at least 15 years from selected Scottish malt and grain whiskies – including Glenkinchie and Linkwood – offers smoothness, elegance, and harmony in an elegant triangular bottle with distinctive dimples.

The creation of this unique whisky is attributed to the Haig (John Haig & Co.), now part of Diageo. It uses more than 30 different distillates – malts from Scottish distilleries like Glenkinchie, Linkwood, and others – combined with grain whiskies. Aging takes place in bourbon and ex-sherry casks, which enhances depth and complexity, with the youngest distillate in the blend having a minimum age of 15 years.

On the nose, sweet notes of honey, caramel, and dried fruits – figs and dates – emerge with a subtle touch of vanilla and oak spice. On the palate, the whisky is creamy, lightly smoky, with notes of toffee, nuts (e.g., roasted almonds), sweet barley, and a gentle hint of spice. The finish is dominated by a long aftertaste with hints of oak and delicate dried fruits.

Dimple was born in 1890 by John Haig, the founder of the Scottish blending tradition, and the iconic dimpled bottle appeared as early as 1893. For decades, it has gained popularity worldwide – including in the USA, where it is known as Dimple Pinch. Today, it is produced by Diageo in Cameronbridge and is one of the best-selling 15-year-old blended whiskies, cherished by enthusiasts for its quality, tradition, and stylish packaging.
