Chivas Regal 25 Year Old
Jim Murray awarded it 95 points in his 2010 Whisky Bible and named it Scotch blends of the Year for 18 years and outside the category. Chivas Regal 25 Year Old is a delicious blend with hints of peach and almond.
The aroma of the whisky remains rich and nutty, with hints of malt, berries (raspberries, red berries), hints of currants, salty wood and a subtle earthy oak aroma.
The taste is initially delicately creamy, with a sweetness reminiscent of caramel, followed by notes of marzipan, pudding, aniseed and sweet candies. The taste gradually changes to dried fruit, berry notes and spices, with a delicate oak structure.
The finish is long, dense and fruity, with notes of berries, chocolate, oak and subtle spices in the background. Some notes also mention a slight earthiness or tobacco in the aftertaste.
We recommend serving it neat, at room temperature in a suitable whisky glass (e.g. Glencairn), where the aromas can fully develop. A few drops of water can help open up the more delicate layers of fruit and spices.
