Chivas Regal 25 Year Old
Jim Murray awarded it 95 points in the Whisky Bible in 2010 and named it the Scotch Blend of the Year for 18 years and beyond the category. Chivas Regal 25 Year Old is a delicious blend with hints of peach and almond.
The aroma of the whisky remains rich and nutty, with touches of malt, berry fruit (raspberries, red berries), hints of currants, salty wood, and a subtle earthy oak scent.
The taste starts off gently creamy, with sweetness reminiscent of caramel, further developing notes of marzipan, pudding, anise, and sweet candies. The flavor gradually shifts to dried fruit, berry notes, and spices, with a delicate oak structure.
The finish is long, dense, and fruity, with tones of berries, chocolate, oak, and subtle spices in the background. Some notes also mention a slight earthiness or tobacco in the aftertaste.
We recommend serving it best neat, at room temperature in a suitable whisky glass (e.g., Glencairn), where the aromas can fully develop. A few drops of water can help open up the finer layers of fruit and spices.
