Dictador Reserva Icónica 20 Years Old is one of the signature rums of the Colombian brand Dictador, a producer recognized worldwide for its premium rum craftsmanship.
The rum is made from panela – concentrated sugarcane juice – which gives the spirit more depth than traditional molasses. Distillation is carried out using a combination of continuous column still and more traditional methods, ensuring a balanced and smooth character.
Then dark rum matures for approximately 20 years in a combination of American oak bourbon barrels and sherry casks, which significantly shape its rich and velvety profile.
On the nose, it reveals notes of caramel, coffee, cocoa, vanilla, dried fruit and a touch of smoky wood.
The palate is full and silky – dark chocolate, honey, caramel, espresso, sweet spice, hints of raisins and toasted oak. The finish is long, slightly sweet, gently spicy, with touches of tobacco and chocolate.
Dictador 20 is best enjoyed neat or with a single drop of water. It also makes an excellent premium gift for lovers of Colombian rum.
