Dictador Reserva Icónica 20-Year-Old rum is an excellent example of Colombian craftsmanship that combines traditional methods with modern techniques. This rum is made from pure fermentation of virgin sugar cane, known as "virgin sugar cane honey."
It is distilled in a combined manner – part in copper pot stills and part in steel continuous columns, resulting in a balanced and medium-bodied distillate. After distillation, it ages in used oak barrels, which gives it a complex character and depth.
During aging in the Solera system, which lasts from 14 to 24 years, the rum slowly matures and gains complexity. During this process, the rum is slowly diluted with demineralized water over 28 days, contributing to its smoothness and balance. This careful aging process combined with used oak barrels creates a rum with deep character and balanced flavor.
The aromatic profile of Dictador Reserva Icónica 20-Year-Old rum is rich and complex. On the nose, sweet notes of caramel, vanilla, and honey emerge, balanced by undertones of tobacco and oak.
The taste is full and rounded, with pronounced notes of caramel, vanilla, dark chocolate, and roasted coffee, complemented by a subtle hint of smoke on the finish. This rum offers an elegant and persistent finish that leaves a pleasant impression.
Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 40% with a volume of 0.7 l and are delivered in gift cartons.
