De Luze VS Fine Champagne
De Luze VS Fine Champagne is a blend of eaux-de-vie from two main Cognac growing regions, Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, with at least 51% of the blend coming from Premier Cru. The wine was distilled unfiltered, on the lees, at the family estate.
In 1817, Alfred De Luze and his brother Louise-Philippe founded a company for the export of wine and cognac in New York. In 1822, the company De Luze Alfred A. & Son of Luze was established in Bordeaux. In 1862, Alfred Luze purchased Domaine du Chaigne in the Grande Champagne growing region to begin producing cognacs. After a period of inactivity in the early 20th century, Michel Boinaud revived the distillery in 1940.
The headquarters of De Luze is located in Angeac-Champagne in the Charente department of France, approximately 7 miles south of Cognac. De Luze has its own cooperage that produces and repairs barrels.
