Are you a fan of exotic rums? New Marama arrives from Indonesia

If the name Marama Origin Spiced Rum sounds familiar to you, you’re not mistaken. In its early days, Marama was produced in the Pacific paradise of Fiji. Today, everything has changed — the former Marama Fijian Rum is now a thing of the past. The production of Marama has moved to another exotic destination – the Indonesian island of Java in Southeast Asia. With this transition, a new exotic rum was born. Meet the all-new Marama!

This rum invites you to explore its unique origin and places of the world. Once again, it takes us to a land full of native flavors and local ingredients.

The entire story of Marama began with the fusion of a mythical sea nymph — a true goddess of the ocean — and the Pacific Ring of Fire (a region encircling the Pacific Ocean that contains many of the world’s most significant tectonic zones). It is precisely the combination of water and volcanic activity that creates the fertile volcanic soil known for its exceptional productivity. This, in turn, makes it ideal for cultivating sugar cane. The tropical island climate of Indonesia, combined with intense monsoon rains that seep deep into the volcanic subsoil, creates perfect conditions for producing rum from the finest local raw materials.

Marama Indonesian Rum

Marama Indonesian Rum is ultimately the result of uniting the key elements of the Indonesian archipelago: native sugar cane, tropical climate, and volcanic soil.

Marama Origins Indonesian Rum is distilled using a continuous column system. The rum is then enriched with plant and fruit extracts typical of Southeast Asia — including vanilla and the distinctly Asian blue ginger known as galangal.

After maturing in American oak barrels, Marama Indonesian Rum develops a clear, dark amber color accompanied by aromas and flavors of galangal, Asian vanilla, spices, plums, and dried fruits.

Color: clear, dark amber
Aroma: spices, ginger, galangal (Asian blue ginger), vanilla, plums, raisins, dried fruit
Taste: mildly sweet with notes of vanilla, spices, citrus, and ginger

This premium-quality rum is perfect for sipping neat or as a refined base for cocktails. Here’s a simple cocktail recipe for you:
