501 Solera
One of the best-selling brands in Spain - Brandy 501 is produced by the family company Bodegas 501 from El Puerto de Santa María, founded in 1783.
It is distilled from wine distillates, which then age in oak barrels that previously held sherry – this process gives it a delicate aroma of wood, sherry, and dried fruit.
Aging occurs using the solera method, where a smaller portion is blended between barrels of different ages – typically averaging about 1 year, ensuring consistent quality and style.
The aroma features notes of oak wood, vanilla, and dried fruit (e.g., raisins or dried apricots). The taste is smooth, warm, and balanced with a subtle cinnamon and sherry undertone, which is evident in the long finish – ideal for lovers of moderately smooth spirits.
Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 36% with a volume of 0.7 l.
