Description
This is the release of the very popular Reserve Limitada rum by Ron Zacapa from 2015, blended by Lorena Vasquez from rums aged 6 to 24 years. The barrels used for its production previously held whisky and Pedro Ximénez, which also aged for 2 years in re-charred barrels.
Aroma: There is a lot of fruit - such as mango, pineapple, strawberry, apricot. Over time, hints of smoky barrel char develop.
Taste: Caramel upfront, followed quickly by citrus and exotic fruit. A touch of herbal spice and another light waft of smoke.
Finish: Banana and almonds with a dusting of baking spices.
Overall impression: Complex and flavorful material.
