Irish whiskey Tullamore Dew Cider Cask Finished is produced only during the apple harvest season in Ireland (from September to November). The highest quality apples are selected, pressed while still fresh, and this marks the beginning of the process where cider is made in small batches. The pressed juice is stored for several months in oak barrels.
As the cider ferments, tart yet sweet notes permeate the bourbon barrels, creating complex layers of aromas and flavors that are richly rewarding. The Master Blender then siphons off all the fermented cider and replaces it with precious Tullamore D.E.W. for another three months.
The result is an exceptional and noble Irish whiskey, the true essence of Ireland, with notes of charred barrel infused with sweet cider, captivating and delighting the palate of true Irish whiskey lovers.
In the aroma, you will sense fresh green apple, gentle sweet malt, and caramel notes intertwined with oak. The cider's character adds a fruity-sweet accent to the aroma, while the oak barrel provides a subtle spicy firmness and depth.
The taste is smooth, slightly sweet, with pronounced notes of apple, sweet malt, and a hint of spice. The oak barrel contributes tannins and woody elements that blend with a light tart sweetness from the cider finish. The result is a balanced profile – the cider adds fruitiness and freshness, while the whiskey retains its whiskey identity.
