Tullamore Dew Cider Cask
Irish whiskey Tullamore Dew Cider Cask Finished is produced only during the apple harvest season in Ireland (from September to November). The highest quality apples are selected and pressed while still fresh, which is the beginning of a process in which they are used to produce cider in small batches. The pressed juice is stored in oak barrels for several months.
As the cider ferments, sour and sweet notes permeate the bourbon barrels, creating complex layers of aromas and flavors that are richly rewarding. The Master Blender then drains all the fermented cider and replaces it with precious Tullamore D.E.W. for another three months.
The result is an exceptional and noble Irish whiskey, the true essence of Ireland, with notes of charred oak infused with sweet cider, which will captivate and delight the palate of true Irish whiskey lovers.
The aroma is fresh green apple, delicate sweet malt and hints of caramel, intertwined with oak. The cider adds a fruity-sweet accent to the aroma, while the oak barrel adds a delicate spicy strength and depth.
The taste is smooth, delicately sweet, with distinct notes of apple, sweet malt, and a hint of spice. The oak barrel contributes tannins and woody elements, which combine with the light tart sweetness of the cider finish. The result is a balanced profile – the cider adds fruitiness and freshness, while the whiskey retains its whiskey identity.
