The story of the brand Ron Colón Salvadoreño began with rum, but over time its offerings have expanded in a very interesting way. And so here we have something from a different barrel: Colón Salvadoreño Rye 100 is a rye whiskey made from ingredients sourced from the American Midwest (this is a product labeled as MGP - Midwest Grain Product).
Colón Salvadoreño Rye 100 proof whiskey is crafted according to historical standards and using proprietary yeast. It contains a blend of 3 remarkable other whiskeys: high-malt whiskey, 51% rye whiskey, and 100% rye whiskey. The first was used only in a small amount and brought notes of chocolate and apple to the blend. The second made this whiskey fruitier and sweeter. And the third component, 100% rye whiskey, added flavors of mint, spice, and flowers. Each of the whiskeys that are part of this interesting blend aged for 5 years in charred oak barrels.
