Roku Gin Noryo Tea Edition is a limited edition Japanese craft gin from The House of Suntory. It is part of the Seasonal Festival Collection, which showcases Japanese seasons, traditions, and perceptions of nature through unique botanicals.
The name Noryo refers to the Japanese tradition of seeking pleasant coolness during hot summer days – for example, while relaxing by the river and enjoying a refreshing breeze. This edition aims to capture that calm and fresh atmosphere in the aroma and taste of the gin.
The base remains the characteristic combination of six Japanese botanicals from Roku: cherry blossom and leaf, sencha, gyokuro, yuzu, and sansho pepper. However, in the Noryo Tea edition, two green teas – the fresh and aromatic sencha and the rarer gyokuro – are more prominently featured, bringing a delicate sweetness, depth, and typical umami character.
The result is a clean, fresh, and balanced gin with a subtly herbal and tea profile. Sencha presents a light aroma of fresh tea leaves, while gyokuro adds smoothness, natural sweetness, and a longer flavor depth. Japanese citrus and other botanicals maintain the elegance and complexity typical of Roku Gin.
