Mortlach 12 Year Old The Wee Witchie

Mortlach The Wee Witchie 12 Years Old is a Scottish single malt whisky from Speyside. The Mortlach distillery became famous for its special distillation process created by Alexander Cowie at the end of the 19th century.

The distillate passes through 6 differently shaped stills, which are separated several times by pipes and distilled 2.81 times. And this is what makes the taste of "Beast of Dufftown" particularly strong and well-built. It was created as an ode to the smallest but essential still called "the Wee Witchie," where part of this whisky is distilled.

Matured in European ex-sherry casks and American ex-bourbon casks offerring rich flavour and the legendary robust character typical to Mortlach tasting profile.

The distillery recommends adding water to this whisky to bring out its sweetness and the true character of the Mortlach flavours.
