Malecon Selección Esplendida 1987 is a rare Panamanian vintage rum, distilled exclusively in 1987 and aged for decades in ex-bourbon barrels. This rum work of art is extremely limited and packaged in an exclusive wooden box — a must-have for collectors and lovers of refined spirits.
The rum was distilled in Panama according to Cuban tradition from molasses in a column still, and all its components come exclusively from the 1987 vintage — it is a vintage product with no added colorants. It was then aged for decades in ex-bourbon barrels, where it acquired its deep and complex character.
The aroma reveals notes of roasted coffee, exotic fruit, vanilla, candied fruit, maple-cherry fondant and buttery praline. The taste is soft, warm and slightly sweet, with layers of vanilla, apricot, banana and hints of tobacco and chocolate. The finish is exceptionally long, spicy, elegant, with notes of brown spice, raisins, and hazelnuts Latte macchiato.
This rum is ideal for slow sipping neat, with large ice cubes or in a Glencairn glass, so you can fully enjoy its complexity and texture.
