Hampden LROK "Light Rum Owen Kelly" is produced using methods that have not changed since the 18th century. It ages for 8 years in tropical conditions and is a distillate with a distinct flavor profile, primarily due to the high level of esters. As with all releases from Habitation Velier, this is a pure Jamaican uncut rum from traditional distillation, providing a complete, authentic, and intensely flavorful insight into what one of the best rum distilleries in the world can achieve.
The LROK brand specifically refers to rums with an ester content between 350 - 450 g / hlpa. It should be noted that this is a light rum only by Hampden's standards; otherwise, in terms of ester count, it is well above almost all other rums on the market. It was distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2018. Aged 8 years in the tropical climate of Hampden Estate.
