Habitation Velier Rainforest 2024

Habitation Velier Rainforest 2024 is an unconventional Filipino Pure Single Rum created in collaboration between Habitation Velier and Rainforest Distillery. The distillery was founded in 2015 by Master Distiller Marc Schulze, also known as the producer of Kasa Kaña Rum Agrikultura. This edition marks a world premiere within the Habitation Velier project, which focuses on rums distilled exclusively in pot still.

The rum is made from molasses from Filipino sugarcane Manpu. Fermentation lasts 9 to 11 days and also utilizes young muck aging in the tropical environment of the Bukidnon region, which enhances the rum's distinctive, aromatic character. It then ages for 20 months in Chardonnay casks and is bottled at a strength of 58 %.

Thanks to pot still distillation, tropical aging, and wine casks, Habitation Velier Rainforest 2024 presents an intense, concentrated, and expressive profile. One can expect a fuller rum expression with notes of ripe fruit, molasses, spices, a subtle wine line, and tropical fermentation. It shines best when enjoyed neat, during a slow tasting.
