Gran Duque de Alba Gold
Brandy Gran Duque de Alba Oro is produced using the traditional Jerez system of criaderas y soleras at Williams & Humbert (since 1877). The distillates are made from holandas (distillates) from Palomino and Airén grapes and age for approximately 25 years in American oak barrels that were previously filled with Palo Cortado sherry. The average age is around 20 years, with proven methods maintaining consistent high quality.
The color of the brandy ranges from antique mahogany to black cherry ebony, with a bright shine. The aroma is dominated by an intense scent of vanilla and forest leaves with a subtle sweet tone, ranking among the "most characteristic scents of long aging." On the palate, the brandy presents itself complexly and majestically, with a creamy, oily, velvety finish, evoking nuts, wood, and vanilla.
The name Gran Duque de Alba originates from 1945, when Fernando Álvarez de Toledo agreed to name the brandy in honor of his ancestor – the Grand Duke of Alba. Production takes place at Williams & Humbert, a family-owned company in Jerez de la Frontera with over 130 years of tradition in premium sherry and brandy. The label "Oro" signifies the pinnacle of aging in the Solera Gran Reserva category, recognized by the regulatory authority and the Brandy de Jerez association.
Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 40% with a volume of 0.7 l and are delivered in gift boxes.
