Bareksten Botanical Aquavit

Bareksten Botanical Aquavit is made from potato-based spirit, flavored with classic botanical ingredients from aquavit, such as caraway, fennel, and anise. It then rests for 24 months in ex-sherry Oloroso casks.

The traditional aquavit drink is derived from the Latin aqua vitae, which means water of life. The first written mention in Norway dates back to 1531. The drink was used as a cure-all for digestive issues and was mainly served at Scandinavian celebrations and feasts.

This drink from the Bareksten family is also produced at the Norwegian distillery Oss Craft Distillery. The distillate is bottled at an alcohol content of 40%. We recommend enjoying it neat at room temperature. The best way is to simply savor it slowly and sip, especially after a good meal.
