The excellent Italian red wine Balan Merlot Veneto comes from the vineyard area of S. Ambrogio di Trebaseleghe, vintage 2021.

Description

Balan Merlot Veneto is a red, dry, Italian wine. It comes from the vineyards of S. Ambrogio di Trebaseleghe, a vineyard near Balan, in an area that has always been known as 'Grion'. Loamy soils with large layers, extremely compact and clayey. The wine is the 2021 vintage. The grape variety is 100 % Merlot.

It is two different clones of Merlot vinified together. Fermentation in cement tanks. Aged for 6 months in barriques (one third of the barrels are new, the others have been used two or three times before). Three months of maturation in bottle. It is recommended to continue this maturation.

Recommended to serve with roasted red meat, game, pasta with meat sauce and aged cheese.

Colour: intense ruby red with purple highlights
Aroma and taste: currants, raspberries, cherry jam, vanilla, mint
