The GlenAllachie French Oak Finish is a very tasty Scotch whisky from the Speyside region. It matured for 8 years and 6 months in ex-bourbon French oak casks, which imparted a smooth and distinctive character. It was finished for 18 months in specially selected French virgin oak casks.
The French casks are made from oak Quercus Alba, sourced from the Haute Garonne region near the Pyrenees. The fine-grained, consistent wood is dried for 15 months before the whisky The GlenAllachie is placed in it. The entire production and maturation process was overseen by the legendary Billy Walker.
This is a limited edition from the second batch, meaning that only a limited number of bottles were produced, with no added colors and no chill filtration. The whisky comes in a very nice gift packaging.
