Ramazzotti Amaro
Amaro Ramazzotti is an herbal liqueur that originated in 1815 in the heart of Milan. The young visionary Ausano Ramazzotti created the first Italian liqueur without a wine base, based on a secret recipe of 33 herbs, spices, fruits, and flowers from around the world. Despite the political instability and lack of raw materials in Italy at the time, he managed to mix something exceptional. A drink that was bitter, sweet, citrusy, and spicy all at once. Thanks to the delicate balance of quinine from the Peruvian Andes, rhubarb from China, gentian from Central Europe, and sweet orange peels, Ramazzotti gained its characteristic flavor with perfect balance.
It belongs to the category of amaro liqueurs, typical Italian bitter digestifs that are consumed after meals or in cocktails. Its aroma is dominated by herbs, citrus, and subtle earthy tones. The taste is intense, bitter-sweet, with hints of orange. Enjoy it neat or on the rocks in its purest form, combined with tonic, orange peel, or in a spritz version.
Ramazzotti is a symbol of the Italian lifestyle. Positive, vibrant, social. In the 19th century, the entire Ramazzotti Amaro business opened right by the Milan Cathedral, in the 20th century, its advertisements were decorated with posters by the most famous artists, and in the 80s it became an icon thanks to the slogan "Milano da bere." Today, after more than 200 years, Ramazzotti is among the most famous Italian amari in the world. Still with the same recipe, the same passion, and the same goal: to bring the taste of Italy to every glass.
