In developing the Mystic Collection, the journey of Monin led to three balsamic botanical ingredients - Vetiver, Labdanum, and Palo Santo - each with a rich history of connecting humanity to its spiritual essence. These plants were chosen for their ability to provide a subtle, almost mystical sensory experience.
Vetiver, also known as khamaré, is a plant native to Southern Africa and Southeast Asia (the raw material for Paragon specifically from Java), with roots reaching depths of up to 3 meters. Its rich woody tones complemented by pine notes provide a solid foundation for any cocktail, bringing a sense of grounding and tradition.
For centuries, Vetiver embodies stability and strength, awakening the roots of the soul. In mixology and perfumery, it is favored for its earthy, truffle-like character, enhanced by pine notes, a flagship ingredient for achieving excellence.
In fragrance, Vetiver reveals a complex profile of strong earthy, woody, tuberous, and pine notes. Supercritical CO2 extraction captures the main essence, while steam distillation unveils notes of forest fruits, spices, and sweet licorice.
