Lepanto Pedro Ximénez Solera Gran Reserva is an exceptional Spanish brandy from the Jerez de la Frontera region, combining traditional craftsmanship and the unique character of sherry.
It is made exclusively from the Palomino Fino grape variety grown in Jerez and distilled in two Charentais-type copper stills, which is rare even within the region itself. After double distillation, the so-called ‘holanda’ is obtained – the purest part of the distillate, which is the basis for this brandy.
Maturation takes place using the traditional Solera system in 600-litre American oak barrels. Lepanto PX is first aged for 12 years in barrels previously used for dry sherry Tio Pepe and then for another 3 years in barrels previously used for 30-year-old sweet sherry Pedro Ximénez. This process gives the brandy a deep and complex character, which is the result of many years of ageing and careful selection of barrels.
The result is a brandy with a rich aromatic profile and a delicate, sweet taste. Its elegance and complexity make it an ideal digestif, best enjoyed at room temperature in a brandy glass, or paired with a quality cheese such as Gouda or a mild cigar.
