Fruit distillates, also known as "liquid fruit," are the result of honest distillation of fruit mash. Unlike liqueurs or mixed spirits, they contain alcohol exclusively from fruit – without the addition of sugar, colorants, or aromas. This gives them a pure, natural, and authentic character.

How fruit distillate is made

The base is ripe fruit – plums, pears, apricots, cherries, or sour cherries – which is allowed to ferment naturally. The mash is then distilled, resulting in a strong, aromatic drink with the unique flavor of the respective fruit. The resulting aroma, smoothness, and length of the finish depend on the quality of the fruit, the distillation method, and the aging period.
