Caol Ila The Distillers Edition 2022

Caol Ila Distillers Edition 2022 belongs to the Distillers Edition of the Single Malts of Scotland. Since 1997, bottles with individually selected casks and a double maturation process have been released annually in this series.

Distillers Edition is a collection of master craftsmanship. Each cask in this series is individually selected and perfectly tailored to the character of each of the refined single malt whiskies.

The double maturation process adds greater depth and complexity, which is the idea behind this limited edition: preserving the perfection of single malt whiskies that have already been recognized for their exceptional flavors. The selected flavor nuances are more strongly highlighted in a way that is not found in regular bottles, while fully maintaining the original character of these fine single malt whiskies.

This excellent Caol Ila whisky first matured in American and European oak casks. The second maturation was completed in moscatel-finished, re-charred American oak casks with heavily charred new AO ends.

This golden edition of Caol Ila is brilliant, fresh, and refined. The deep, sweet, and smoky flavor profile reflects the intense, rich colors of the late afternoon sun after a storm.

Caol Ila, founded in 1846 by Hector Henderson near Port Askaig on Islay island, means from Gaelic "Sound of Islay." One of the reasons for its location was the source of fresh water, and since then water has been important in many ways - the waterfall provided energy for the barley lifts and pressure for the fire hydrants.

Caol Ila has been regularly globally awarded at the most prestigious events since 2002.

Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 43% with a volume of 0.7 l. They are delivered in gift cartons.
