Bruichladdich Octomore 16.2
Octomore 16.2 is part of the 16th series of the world’s most heavily peated whisky. This edition Islay whisky presents a deeply layered and intense interpretation of Octomore, combining its extreme phenolic profile with maturation in four distinct cask types.
Distilled in 2017 from Scottish barley, the whisky matured in a combination of Oloroso sherry casks, Amarone wine barriques, Rivesaltes casks and ex-bourbon barrels, creating exceptional depth and complexity. Each cask adds its own influence, balancing the iconic Octomore peat with fruity richness and wine-driven sweetness.
Bottled at 58,1 % ABV, non-chill filtered and at natural colour, it delivers the full authenticity of the spirit.
The nose opens with peat smoke, dried plums, roasted barley, red wine tones, dark chocolate, mint and hints of sea salt.
On the palate whisky, it is explosive and creamy – intense peat smoke, black cherry, cranberries, cocoa, grilled fruit, honeyed malt and earthy peat.
The finish is long, warming and complex, with ash, chocolate, dark fruits, wine notes and spice.
Octomore 16.2 is a bold, multi-layered and concentrated expression for connoisseurs who seek the extremes of peated whisky, enriched by a sophisticated cask selection.
