Blanton's Original Single Barrel
Blanton's Original Single Barrel is an iconic expression of American bourbon - the first commercially available "single barrel," bottled at 46,5 % (93 proof), hand-filtered and packaged at the historic Buffalo Trace Distillery.
This bourbon was created in 1984 at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky, initiated by master distiller Elmer T. Lee as a tribute to the former president of the colonial distillery, Colonel Albert B. Blanton. It is distilled from a mixture of corn, rye, and malt (sour mash), and each barrel is individually selected from "Warehouse H" – the only metal-lined hall in the distillery, which allows for a more intense aging process.
Blanton's is not a blend, but each bottle comes from a single barrel, ensuring a unique flavor profile for each barrel. The barrels are hand-selected and bottled without blending or modification, all of which adds to the authenticity and exclusivity.
The nose is dominated by spicy notes of nutmeg and cinnamon, along with rich vanilla, caramel, and honey nuances, underscored by sweet corn kernels. The taste is full, smooth, and pleasantly balanced - you'll taste vanilla, caramel, orange peel, brown sugar, and cloves. The finish is long and harmonious, with lingering oak, citrus and honey.
This bourbon is ideal neat or with a drop of water, but also excels in classic cocktails such as the Old Fashioned.
