This 18-year-old triple distilled single malt whisky from the Lowlands, launched in 2008, boasts a great richness of flavors in the Auchentoshan core range. Aged in American oak barrels.
Aroma: Broad with toasted oak and vanilla spice. Chocolate cake and pleasant grassiness, moist yet drying. Crystallized ginger.
Taste: Toasted vanilla, dark nuts, possibly chestnut and something aromatic that softens slightly over time.
Finish: Barley.
