Tariquet Montreur d´Ours
The special edition of the French Bas-Armagnac Montreur d´Ours from the Tariquet distillery is a combination of 10 to 20-year-old Armagnacs. It is made from 3 varieties of grapes, Plant de Graisse, Ugni Blanc and Baco. It matures in oak French barrels. No added dye and caramel. The bottle is contained in a wooden hand-carved gift box from local carvers from the Gascony region.
Montreur d´Ours pays tribute to the ancestors of the Grassa-Artaud family, originally from Ercé, a small village in the Ariège mountains at the foot of the Pyrenees, where they have learned for generations the tradition of taming the bear. In 1912, the family bought the Tariquet vineyard. The Grassa family began growing the Plant de Graisse grape variety in 2001. It is an old forgotten variety from the Armagnac region.
