Suntory Hakushu Distillers Reserve
Suntory Hakushu Distiller's Reserve is the gateway to one of the most renowned Japanese distilleries. Hakushu is produced in the heart of the Japanese Alps, surrounded by dense forests and springs of crystal-clear mountain water, which significantly influence its unique character.
Suntory's master blenders created this whisky by combining younger malts with whisky aged for approximately 18 years in American oak barrels. The result is a harmonious single malt whisky with pronounced freshness, fruitiness, and a subtle hint of smoke.
Compared to its sister Yamazaki, Hakushu feels lighter, greener, and fresher. Dominant notes of green apple, pear, mint, citrus, and freshly cut grass are complemented by gentle vanilla, hints of white pepper, and a subtle smoke typical of Hakushu distilleries.
Hakushu Distiller's Reserve is the perfect whisky for those looking to discover the elegant style of Japanese single malt whisky. It tastes excellent neat, with a splash of water, or in the iconic Japanese Highball.
