River Antoine Rivers Royale Grenadian Rum
Rivers Royale Grenadian is a white rum, distilled in the island nation of Grenada from locally grown and hand-cut sugarcane. The production process of this rum has remained unchanged for 230 years.
The sugarcane is crushed by a mill powered by the original water wheel of the distillery from the 18th century. The resulting juice ferments for up to 10 days in the fresh air using only naturally occurring wild yeasts. After distillation using fire heat, the rum is bottled directly from 2 copper distillation units. This rum has a higher % alcohol than other rums. River Antoine is likely the only distillery on the island that does not use electricity.
