From the Old Monk line, produced by the Indian company Mohan Meakin, comes The Legend, a well-aged blended rum in a bottle that is said to be shaped like the head of H. G. Meakin, the founder of this company.
Old Monk The Legend ages in oak barrels for at least 7 years, although it does not have an officially recognized age. Its color is similarly dark copper like other rums from the Old Monk brand. The aroma is also reminiscent of cinnamon and cloves, but in The Legend, you can additionally sense oak wood, orange peel, banana, and caramel.
The taste is slightly smoother than that of the 7-year-old Old Monk, with beautiful notes of dried apricots, figs, and black Orange Pekoe tea. In many ways, this rum is the best from the Old Monk line.
We recommend serving it neat with a cube of ice or in various mixed drinks. The bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 42.8%.
