Lazy Dodo

Lazy Dodo is a premium rum produced on the island of Mauritius, specifically on a plantation in the Pamplemousses district. Developed by Grays at the New Grove rum distillery, the brand draws on more than 175 years of sugar cane processing tradition. The rum is 100 % ‘Made in Moris’ and celebrates the island's heritage brand, the dodo bird, which is a symbol of the island.

The production process begins with the fermentation of high-quality cane molasses. Distillation takes place in column stills to a purity of up to 94 % esters, which is the classic approach for traditional column rum. The base blend is a mixture of rums from different vintages (3 to 10 years), which are then aged in French and American oak barrels.

The rum is not chill-filtered and is bottled at 40 % alcohol. Lazy Dodo stands out for its authenticity – using local ingredients, traditional know-how and processes without excessive filtration.
