Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée Brut is an enhanced replacement for the house’s classic Brut. Founded in 1812 in the village of Tours-sur-Marne, at the heart of the Champagne region, the prestigious Laurent-Perrier house is one of France’s most respected and largest family-owned wineries. La Cuvée represents its flagship champagne – a wine that perfectly embodies the house style: lightness, precision, and harmony.
This champagne is crafted from grapes sourced from over 100 vineyards across Champagne, primarily from Premier and Grand Cru sites. The blend is composed mainly of Chardonnay (about 55 %), which lends elegance, minerality, and delicate floral aromas. It is complemented by Pinot Noir (around 30 %), adding structure and depth, and Pinot Meunier (about 15 %), which brings fruitiness and freshness. Only the “la cuvée” – the finest juice from the first pressing – is used, ensuring purity and finesse in the final wine.
After the second fermentation, the wine is aged for a minimum of four years in the Laurent-Perrier cellars, developing its signature complexity. The dosage (sugar addition after fermentation) is low, resulting in a dry, refined style that highlights the natural freshness and mineral character of the champagne.
The colour is pale gold with a bright sheen and fine, persistent bubbles. The aroma is fresh, clean, and elegant – opening with notes of white fruit, citrus, crisp apples, and pears, accented by hints of white flowers and almonds.
On the palate, La Cuvée is harmonious and well-balanced, with a silky texture that combines creaminess and lively acidity. Flavours of peach, lemon zest, almond, hazelnut, and a touch of brioche evoke the long ageing on the lees. The finish is long, mineral, and pure, with a subtle trace of citrus and almond.
Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée Brut is a perfect apéritif, but it also pairs beautifully with lighter dishes such as delicate fish, seafood, poultry, or goat cheese. It is best served well-chilled (8 – 10 °C) in a flute or tulip glass, allowing its aromas and fine bubbles to fully express themselves.
