Glen Breton Ice 10 Year Old
Canadian single malt whisky from the Glenora distillery in Nova Scotia, bottled as Glen Breton. This bottling proudly claims to be the first whisky whose production is completed with ice wine. The ice wine casks were sourced from Just Winery in Nova Scotia. It is extraordinary.
Aroma: Truly fascinating. Sticky caramel pudding, ginger-nut cookies, and a really quirky balanced delicious note, something herbal, perhaps even lemongrass?
Taste: Sweet, as expected, just the right side of saturation. Quite oily, with a strong coal note. Rich bourbon casks and ice wine barrels break through, very light peat, tickling spices, ginger root in syrup, smoky ginger, cappuccino, and applewood.
Finish: Tingling heat and gentle Kentucky smoke, nutmeg.
Overall: Simply incredible, literally unique, breathtaking!
