Appleton Estate

The Appleton Estate was said to be part of the land that Frances Dickinson acquired in 1655 for his services during the conquest of Jamaica by the English. The property remained in the Dickinson family until 1845. Gradually, a number of rums were produced on the estate, all types were made by periodic distillation equipment and quickly gained a good reputation. At the beginning of the 20th century, Appleton Estate acquired the company "Wray and Nephew". It is the oldest distillery in Jamaica and the harvest is harvested not only by machine but also by machete. The manor is quite large, with an area of 11,000 acres. Joy Spence, the first woman in the distillery industry, is employed as the main blender. In addition, the age is governed by the same rules as for malt whiskey from a single distillery - that age must correspond to the youngest alcohol in the mixture. All rums are aged in American oak barrels, which give the final product a hint of vanilla flavor.
