Zaya is a name for "triumphant woman" in many languages and cultures. However, the recipe for blended rum Zaya Gran Reserva remains shrouded in mystery. It is only known that it is a precise blend of 12 rare rums from Trinidad and Tobago, crafted to faithfully follow in the footsteps of the rum once produced by this brand in Guatemala.

Each of the rums used is made from virgin sugarcane from the islands and personally selected by master blender Carl Homer. Fermented sugarcane juice is double distilled in copper pot stills and then aged in medium-charred white oak barrels previously used for whiskey and bourbon for up to 16 years. This meticulous production process has given Zaya Gran Reserva a memorable flavor and numerous well-deserved awards.
