The ingredients for Sierra Milenario Extra Añejo 100% Agave Tequila undergo a triple selection process at the Sierra Unidas distillery in Mexico. The juice for this tequila comes from the first tender leaves of 12-year-old blue agave. The drink is made through double distillation at low temperatures in traditional copper distillation equipment. It matures using an open aging method in oak barrels for at least 4 years, although legislation for this class of tequila specifies a minimum aging period of 3 years. The perfection of this tequila is also enhanced by the fact that it ages stored at high altitude (Guadalajara), which significantly accelerates the aging process and thus better blends the flavors.
