Ron del Barrilito

Ron del Barrilito is a brand that has maintained stability and consistency in the production of its premium rum since its inception in 1880. It is based in Hacienda Santa Ana in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, acquired by the Fernández family from the Spanish crown in 1787. Inspired by his engineering studies in France and classmates such as Cartier, Eiffel and Michelin, Pedro Fernández returned to revolutionize the old rum category. After years of perfecting his craft, he introduced his unique recipe, according to which Ron del Barrilito is still produced today.

The name Ron del Barrilito pays homage to the original way of serving rum from a small "barrel", or "barrilito" in Spanish. This rum gained popularity among visitors to the Hacienda and soon became an integral part of its history. In 1933, after the end of Prohibition in the US, the Fernández family introduced Ron del Barrilito Two Stars, a younger rum designed for everyday drinking and cocktail preparation. In 2018, after almost 80 years, the brand introduced new products - Four Stars and Five Stars, which are limited editions made according to the same process, but with the addition of older rums.

In 2019, Ron del Barrilito opened its Visitor Center, which offers various tours and experiences for rum lovers from all over the world. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the historic Hacienda Santa Ana in Bayamón and discover the secrets of making one of the best rums in the world. This brand is a symbol of tradition, quality and heritage that is passed down from generation to generation.
