Plantation Single Cask Venezuela 2010
Plantation Single Cask Venezuela 2010 is the latest (and also the final) limited edition rum from the "Under the Sea" series with a design inspired by the rich underwater world of its country of origin. This time, the central motif same as rum comes from Venezuela.
This 12-year-old molasses vintage rum was produced using the column still method in the Venezuelan distillery Destilería Sofa in 2010, where it was also matured in bourbon barrels for the next 8 years. The owner of the Plantation brand, Alexandre Gabriel, then selected 22 barrels for a sea voyage to the Javrezac (in the Charente region of France), where it aged for another 4 years in oak barrels of French Ferrand cognac. The process of double aging in rum underlined its deep, expressive and complex taste. It is a rum with a assertive character and an ester content of 26 g/hL AA, which perfectly reflects the rich Venezuelan origin and the artistry of the experts at Destilería Sofa.
