The brand Piquero comes from tropical Panama, where it is made from high-quality sugar cane. It is locally distilled and then briefly aged in oak barrels, which adds its sweet notes and subtle spicy background.

The name and iconic motif of the Piquero brand come from the Panamanian legend of the blue-footed booby – locals call it “Piquero.” According to folklore, a bird's nest was found along the coast, which contained not an egg, but a forgotten bottle of very old rum. The citizen who discovered it returned to the village, and after tasting it, everyone had to agree – they had found the best rum they had ever drunk. Since then, the blue-footed booby has been considered a symbol and patron of this exceptional rum.

Piquero is distilled in Panama – a country with a tropical climate, ideal for accelerated rum aging – and then bottled in Europe, mainly in Italy under Sandino Savio (Savio s.r.l.), bringing together local heritage with European precision. The bottle design made of cotton paper with a bird motif was created for a distinctive identity – the Piquero bird is the patron of the “good rum tradition.”
