Peychaud's

Peychaud’s is a legendary brand of bitters, which has its roots in New Orleans and is one of the iconic ingredients of world mixology. It was created in the 1830s by Antoine Amédée Peychaud, a pharmacist of Haitian origin, who after arriving in New Orleans began to prepare his own tonic from herbs and spices.

The most famous product is Peychaud’s Bitters, an aromatic bitter with a characteristic ruby-red hue and a slightly sweet, spicy taste with notes of anise and cloves. This bitter has become an integral part of cocktail history – it is a key ingredient in the classic Sazerac, which is considered the first official cocktail in the USA.

Interestingly, Peychaud’s Bitters is still made according to the original recipe and is still closely linked to the culture of New Orleans. Its versatility is appreciated by bartenders around the world – in addition to the Sazerac, it also works great in other classic and modern cocktails.
