Michter's US*1 American Whiskey
Add a tasting glass and elevate your experience to the next level!
This American whiskey Michter's US*1 from Michter's Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, aged in barrels that previously held bourbon. This drink cannot be called bourbon since it must age in new American oak barrels – hence it is referred to as whiskey instead.
Unlike bourbon or rye whiskey, aging utilizes barrels soaked with whiskey/bourbon, achieving a rich and unique flavor profile.
At the end of 2013, the then Master Distiller - Willie Pratt agreed to reintroduce our Michter's US*1 to the market after nearly three years of absence, considering it to be “just right” and “the best it has ever been.” Importantly, Michter's US*1 American Whiskey contains no grain neutral spirits - hence it is labeled as “unblended.”
The whiskey is full of deep notes of butter and vanilla, hints of caramel and dried fruit with a finish of aged fruit.
