J.Rose Flamenco is an Italian London Dry Gin and the first edition of the Follow the Flow collection, which pays tribute to the dances and cultures of various parts of the world. Flamenco is inspired by Andalusia and its distinctive dance tradition. The original label for this edition was created by Francesco Palma.
The gin itself is produced using the London Dry method, distilling grain alcohol and wild juniper in a copper distillation apparatus with steam heating. The recipe consists of nine botanicals: juniper, bergamot, angelica, cardamom, coriander, oak bark, prickly pear flowers, Peruvian maca, and mandarin peel.
The aromatic profile is dominated by juniper, refreshed by citrus notes of bergamot and mandarin. Prickly pear flowers bring a delicate fruity trace, while oak bark adds toasted notes reminiscent of hazelnuts and walnuts.
The gin is bottled at 43% alcohol. The manufacturer also warns that when in contact with ice or tonic, essential oils from bergamot may be released, and the gin may naturally become slightly cloudy.
