Irish Grain Whiskey The Whistler Page 1 of 1

Irish grain whiskey represents a lighter and smoother face of Irish whiskey. It is primarily made from corn or wheat, with the distillation process occurring in column stills, ensuring a smoother and cleaner result. This makes it an ideal base for blended whiskeys, but it is increasingly being bottled on its own – proving that single grain whiskey has its own character.

Character and Flavor

Typical Irish grain style has a mild, sweet, and harmonious flavor with notes of honey, vanilla, caramel, and tropical fruits. It is lighter than single pot still or single malt, yet it retains a fruity freshness and elegant balance, making it accessible even for less experienced tasters.

Ideal for Beginners and Mixing

Due to its smoothness, grain whiskey is perfect for cocktails or as a gateway for those just starting in the world of Irish whiskey. Neat, on the rocks, or with a splash of water, it gradually reveals its layers – from sweet to a lightly spicy finish.
