Graham’s 40 Year Old Tawny Port

Graham’s 40 Year Old Tawny Port is a truly unique Port wine. It is crafted from traditional recipes handed down through generations. Master blender Charles Symington uses wines set aside by his ancestors, aged for many years in oak casks. Maturation takes place in the Douro Valley, where gradual oxidation and evaporation ("angels’ share") create incredibly refined aromas and structure. The ageing strategy and precise control over blending form a connection between the beauty of age and the preservation of fruit intensity.

The wine displays a golden amber color with a subtle greenish hue on the rim – a symbol of maturity and quality. The aroma is exceptionally complex, featuring intense dried fruit such as raisins and figs, seductive caramel sweetness, chocolate and nutty notes with hints of toffee and vanilla. The palate is layered and rich. Fruit, roasted nuts, honeyed caramel and dark chocolate lead to a long, harmonious finish.

It is best served slightly chilled (12 - 16 °C) in suitable Port or white wine glasses. Excellent as a dessert on its own or paired with dark chocolate, nut-based desserts or blue cheeses. Once opened, it remains stable and consistent for up to 4 - 6 weeks.
