Craigellachie

Craigellachie is a whisky that differs from the typical sweet Speyside profile – robust, harsh and with a distinctive personality. It is known as the ‘rocky hill’ whisky – after the name of the village of Craigellachie, which means ‘rocky hill’ in Gaelic and lies on a rock above the confluence of the Spey and Fiddich rivers.

The brand has a long history, having been founded in 1891 by a group of merchants and blenders, including Alexander Edward and Peter Mackie (White Horse blend). It has passed through the hands of several owners (DCL, Diageo) and in 1998 became part of the John Dewar & Sons group under Bacardi.
