CÎROC

CÎROC Vodka is a premium French vodka that sets itself apart by being crafted not from grain or potatoes, but from fine French grapes grown in the Gaillac region of southern France. Distilled in traditional copper pot stills and refined through a five-time distillation process, it delivers exceptional purity, smoothness, and a fresh, fruity character that has made it one of the most innovative vodkas in the world.

The Cîroc brand was founded in 2003 by French oenologist Jean-Sébastien Robicquet, whose family has a long tradition in winemaking and distillation. The Robicquet family has been involved in wine and spirit production in France for centuries.

The spirit is produced in France, specifically in the southern region, at the renowned Distillerie de Chevanceaux. The first four distillations take place in large column stills, while the fifth and final distillation is done in a traditional copper pot still, similar to the method used in Armagnac production.

The name “Cîroc” is a wordplay combining the French words cime (peak) and roche (rock), referring to the high-altitude, rocky vineyards of the Gaillac region, where Mauzac Blanc grapes are grown.

The vodka is made from a combination of two grape varieties: primarily Ugni Blanc, with a smaller portion (about 5 %) of Mauzac Blanc. Ugni Blanc undergoes four distillations in column stills, while Mauzac Blanc is distilled separately; the resulting spirits are then blended and subjected to a fifth distillation in a copper pot still.

The goal is to create an exceptionally pure spirit with a high alcohol content — distilled to around 96 % ABV, near the practical limit of distillation, and then diluted to standard drinking strength, typically 40 % ABV.

In addition to the classic clear version, Cîroc offers a wide range of flavored vodkas, including mango, pineapple, peach, coconut, apple, vanilla, and several limited editions.

The brand positions itself in the luxury segment, emphasizing modern style, exclusivity, and sophistication. In the United States, it was heavily promoted through a partnership with renowned rapper and producer Sean “Diddy” Combs, in an equal-share joint venture model (shared ownership and profit). This collaboration helped the brand achieve major success in the American market.
